About Me

Hi there!

My name is Grace. I am  24 years old. Please refer to my very first blog post to get a feel for what my blog is about.

In a nutshell, I am not wealthy and am living on savings while constantly searching for work (nobody wants to give me a chance since I don't have an internship under my belt or any professional experience). Having said that, I am on a tight budget with my boyfriend and always am looking to cook as to not spend a lot of money on eating out.

Just to let you know, I am a beginner cook. I'm an amateur. So forgive me if I don't use proper cooking terms and what not, but really, that's part of who I'm targeting with my blog posts. Sure experienced cooks can utilize my posts, but for most of america, we aren't Gordon Ramsay level and being able to see how a recipe turns out from an amateur's point of view and trials and errors, I feel would help a lot of people.

Oh, also, I'm a picky eater. I don't like most things. I don't like zucchini, tomatoes, eggplant, some beans depending how they are cooked, don't like ketchup (because it's tomato but I do like pizza/marinara sauce oddly), and I'm not fond of curry or lots of sauces for that matter though I still like my pesto and some other sauces, and the list goes on. I'm picky, which makes scouring the internet for something I like as well as steering clear of seafood for my boyfriend difficult.

So please forgive me if I don't really test out recipes that you are particularly looking for or if my blog turns out boring because of the limited amount of foods I like to eat.

I'm on the lookout for the 3-combination in foods: affordable, tasty, and healthy. Of course there will be indulgences in moderation and exceptions to the foods that I modify depending on what ingredients I have around or want to omit due to my pickiness.

For this blog, I will try to capture through pictures what the food turn out really looks like, even if it looks pathetic. Why not take fabulous pictures that look like restaurant-quality like other food blogs you ask? Because I want to be real with you. I want you to know how your food will most likely turn out so that there will be no surprises when you see your end product. Also, this may help you figure out what dishes or sides you want to make for a party, and if something honestly won't turn out presentable looking, at least you know to steer clear from it from the get-go. If you're an experienced cook with magical hands and know how to make a dish I made look better than how mine turned out, more power to you and please share with us how you did it. But all in all, I want other amateur cooks to see what their food will look like and taste like the way we amateurs approach cooking.

Other than food related words, I am also a face painter and balloon artist with my own company, and whenever I come back to my hometown in Texas I face paint for my old boss. My own company is new this year so it's a little slow in how many clients I'm getting but I'm hoping it'll grow.

Thank you for stopping by my blog and reading what I say. I appreciate the support! Let me know if there's a dish you want me to try out for you. I will take a look at it and see if my pickiness will let me make it first though, but will do my best to fulfill your request, even if it means I make modifications to the recipe.

See you soon in my posts! Cheers!
